Chevron Skirt

When I first bought this skirt I looked at it and was like...."what can I wear with this!?" After searching my closet I found that the navy blue cardigan went very well with this orange and brown chevron skirt.  I did NOT want to just wear white, black, or a gray top with this thing...it's too fun and funky!!! (this is before I did my hair this morning! Yuck!)

Yellow Skirt + Stripes + Chambray

I have to say, I am digging this combination!  The yellow pencil skirt and striped top look cute together, but adding the chambray shirt and belt give the outfit more of a southwestern twist...and being that I live in New Mexico, earthy and southwestern clothes are "the thing" here.

This is my husband, Jason!  He put this outfit together all by himself.  I have to say, I love the purple sweater with the green shorts...I may have to try the color combo myself!

So far both Jason and I are enjoying our new jobs very much!  I start college classes this week! I got my class schedule changed to Wednesday and Friday 9-3...after driving back from orientation last week in the dark and the rain I realized that driving back from Albuquerque around 11pm is just not safe!!!

It's Me Again....

The start of school (work for me) is keeping me crazy busy....I have a feeling my blog posts will grow far and fewer, especially once I start my college classes next week.  So far my job has been pretty nice!  The elementary schools have half day on Wednesdays which is a plus and the little girl I work with keeps me entertained, she is very spunky and fun.

Here is my outfit I wore to work today.....

Polka Dots and Pops of Color

This is my outfit for the day...
I combined a black and white polka dot top with a pair of gray skinny jeans and added a few pops of color with the yellow necklace and red flats. I really like this outfit combo, the pops of color make it funky and fun!

Meetings, meetings, meetings...

This week it's back to school!  Monday and today are both teacher inservice days and tomorrow is when the kiddo's return!  I wish I had taken a picture of my outfit yesterday, it was so cute....but this is what I am wearing today.  I wanted to be comfortable because we will be fixing up our room before the kids arrive....also we have a LONG meeting that will take up a good part of the day.

My Two Favorite Colors Combined

This is what I wore to church this morning, I love the color combination! Turquoise and (bluish)purple are two of my favorite colors!  What better way to wear them than with leopard print belt, a looped rhinestone necklace and some silver flats!  The bracelet I am wearing is one of my very favorite bracelets I purchased when I was in high school.

College time!

Made a quick run to Albuquerque today to make sure I am ready to start college August 27th!  I had to take an entrance exam and fill out the paperwork and now I am just about good to go...just need to take care of financial aid...and I have to go back Tuesday evening to get that cleared away.  Happy day, I was officially accepted into the OTA program!!!!

Here is my outfit for the day today...

Enjoying my last few days...

Pardon my absence, I have been a lazy blogger!  I have been trying to enjoy and rest the last few days I have at home before the craziness of the school year begins.  I had a training yesterday morning and met some of my new coworkers.  I have a feeling this is going to be a fun, yet crazy year...not to mention busy.  I received my college schedule for this fall....Monday, Tuesday and Thursday I will be leaving work with about an hour break and then driving to Albuquerque for class 6-10pm and then driving  back and arriving home around midnight.  When will I do my homework? I have no clue.  I am starting to see why working while in the OTA program is NOT advised.  It's only for 3 months, then I go to working half days and class 1-5pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.  Which should be more manageable but I will be in my OT classes so the work will be much more difficult and more homework for sure!  If you just read this, thanks for reading my personal drama, I had to get it off my chest...just feeling so overwhelmed!!!

In other news....My husband and I are driving over to Taos for one last hurrah before school starts...and it may be one of the last times I get to see him before my college classes begin....KIDDING, I should see him some on the weekends when he doesn't have choir trips.

Here is my outfit for the day....

View of my shoes as well.....

I NEVER pay full price for my clothes...most of my AE buys are at 40% off their regular price due to coupon code hunting.  When buying something online, ALWAYS look for coupon codes because you will almost always find at least one that will save you some cash! I get my AE coupons from the AE rewards, but people also sell coupons on sites like Ebay, so check around when you are online shopping! Also, check for promotions...most stores have sales and deals at least once a month so sign up for the email updates if you are waiting on a deal!
Here are some sites to check for coupon codes...

http://dealspl.us/
http://www.retailmenot.com
http://www.dealigg.com/coupons.php

For example: If ordering something off of Old Navy you would google search -Old Navy Coupon and probably see these 3 sites listed with a few coupon codes that will help you out!

Hair from a box!

That's right ya'll! I get my hair color from a box! I guess the secret is out...

I have been putting off dying my hair for wayyyyy toooo looonngg.  My roots had gotten extremely noticeable and did NOT look good!  I grabbed an ash blonde off the shelf and it did a wonderful job of toning down the brightness of the blonde I had before. The ash color tends to make the hair more muted and I have found it gives it more dimension.  Every spring I do highlights on my hair and then use an ash dye after over the highlights and it takes the nasty orange look out of the highlights and makes them look natural...a little trick i've learned.  Is this what a professional would recommend doing? I have no idea, I really do not know much about hair and hair products.

HERE IT IS!!!

This is a picture of when I did the highlights with the ash blonde over it this spring...

I am glad I got this color back because I LOVE it!

Simple

Sometimes keeping an outfit simple is the best thing to do.  You have all heard the expression..."less is more".  I kept today's outfit simple....flowy floral top and jean shorts.  Before you decide to throw on a statement necklace or a load of bracelets think to yourself "does this outfit have the ability to stand alone?"  Not all outfits need accessories.  Just something to think about!!

What can I say...I <3 American Eagle!!
